Environmental Considerations
Electricity: FFL is situated well away from power lines: providing sustained and sustainable electricity has been a technical challenge, with an upgrading programme in place from 2016-19. In order to improve service and reduce environmental impact, a system of solar-charged batteries now provides lighting to all rooms, with an increasing number also supplied with electricity for fans and electronic devices.
For operating air conditioners etc., we are obliged to run a diesel generator (220 v., 50 Hz), but this is costly and has a significant “carbon footprint”. Clients should be made aware that FFL normally turns off the generator during the following times of day: 08:00 to 18:00 and night: 22:00 to 06:00. However, FFL will respond positively to requests that electricity be provided during these periods (e.g. for people with medical conditions), provided notice is given in advance; otherwise, we reserve the right to make additional charges.

Daily ferry-boat:
Visitors are reminded that the main entrance to the Park is via a boat. This ferry is operated by the Park Authorities and normal crossing times are from 6:30am until 6-8pm (depends on water level and season).

Risks & dangers
Visitors are strongly advised to hold adequate travel insurance when visiting Cat Tien National Park and you should be aware of the hazards associated with visiting wild environments. Forest Floor Lodge is situated inside a tropical forest and may include tours which are made available for your enjoyment and convenience. All visitors therefore visit the Park at their own risk. Whereas strenuous efforts are made to provide adequate safety precautions for our customers, neither ForestFloorLodge nor the Park Authorities accept responsibility for loss or damage to personal property or personal mishaps. This especially applies to incidents arising from the surrounding environment, during trekking taken with or without the supervision of ForestFloorLodge, its agents or representatives. Greivances Complaints will not be considered unless reported to hotel management, during your stay and within 24 hours of the incident in question.
